Professor Ángel Ruiz has just published in the Temas de Historia Antigua collection of Editorial Síntesis a manual, Introducción a la Religión Griega, which aims to bring to a broader public a fundamental reality in the Greece of the past and with important repercussions on the formation of the literature and philosophy that have shaped the West.
In Spanish we currently have excellent reference works, the result of the work of researchers of recognized international prestige, and also other fundamental translated monographs. However, they are all very broad in scope and are generally aimed at a specialized audience.
In this work an effort has been made to explain with the greatest clarity possible, without wanting to give in to simplification, the reality of ancient Greek religion, even with the awareness that it is difficult to recover the religious experience of the past, which was also highly mediated in the case of Greece by literary elaborations, which are those that have largely reached us.
