La conservaci\u00f3n de la salud del cuerpo y del alma<\/em><\/a>, by the doctor and professor at the University of Salamanca, Blas \u00c1lvarez Miraval.<\/p>\nThe work is a joint effort by professors Eduardo \u00c1lvarez del Palacio, from the University of Le\u00f3n, and \u00c1ngel Ruiz P\u00e9rez, from the University of Santiago and member of the \u201cClassical and Medieval Studies\u201d Research Group.<\/p>\n
The value of this work lies above all in the elegance of the prose, in the exposition of the state of research in medical issues, especially in the interaction of the bodily realm with the spiritual. The doctor \u00c1lvarez de Miraval turns to a very large number of ancient authorities, whose quotes come from previous works from that same century. In the book there is an extensive biobibliographic study by Santiago Garc\u00eda Morilla, professor at the University of Le\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
